Question : HP LaserJet 1020- Not Printing?
I recently moved and it was packed in a box. The printer fell over during transport. Everything works except it won't print anything. Is it possible that the toner cartridge messed up? Would replacing the cartridge fix it or would buyin a new printer be better. THe printer is about 3 months old.ok, I forgot to add this ... theoretically the printer works fine, as in the drivers are fine and it goes through all the printing process, just ink dosen't get on the paper ... I don't know much about toner and was wondering if there was a way to "reset" a toner carterage. I think it's the toner because it fell from about 5 feet or so ... but everything works on it fine ... as the process part .... just no ink ...

Answer #1 Try the following: Disconnect it completely from the comptuer. Plug the power
adapter in. Turn the printer on. Does it run through its normal startup process?
If no, something is wrong. Try opening it up and seeing if anything is jamming
it up. You may have to replace it at that point. If yes, turn the printer off
and reconnect to PC. Power the printer back on and wait for it to boot up
completely. If you're using Windows (I'm assuming) go to START / SETTINGS /
CONTROL PANEL / PRINTERS and delete the entry for the printer. Then re-install
the printer. Make sure you have the updated drivers. You can find them on
www.hp.com/support (You have to go through the whole identification process,
i.e. country, model, etc...). If at this point it does not work, you may want
to try Windows updates. Leave your printer plugged in, sometimes windows update
recognizes your devices and install the latest drivers for you. GOOD
LUCK!REMEMBER - Make sure your cables are working properly. The drivers for your
printer should have a cleaning utility. Try running that utility and make sure
you go through all the steps. GOOD LUCK!! - answered by netshooters
Answer #2 Along with everything else already said by the last answerer, you should also
make sure that the drums are set into their notches properly. If paper goes
through but ink does not come out, there is a good chance that the transfer drum
is misaligned and not touching the paper. Take out the toner cartridges and
give them a light shake as well, it could be the toner is all at one end instead
of evenly spread across the toner cartridge. Funny you mentioned it was
dropped, cause mine has a Do Not Drop label on it :-) Make it work and maybe
they will use you in their next commercial . - answered by CrownPC
