Question : What's the best color laser printer out there?
I need to find the best possible laser color printer at the lowest possible price. I need to prints lots of documents black and white, flyers with a few photos on them, color posters and etc. So I would like to have both of best worlds and have some great photo quality and print the most pages per toner cartridges. I recently made a mistake and bought a HP photosmart 8250 and have gone through about almost $300 in ink, if not more (in only about 2 months). But when I think I found a good color laser printer I find horror stories from user reviews. Can anyone help me basically find a good all around color laser printer that has full ink toner and not so expensive (like over $100 per toner)? As I don't need network capability and if it has a duplexer is a bonus. Thanks for any suggestions!

Answer #3 HP sucks. All I can say is we just got a new Canon printer and it is the nicest
printer we've ever had and it wasn't that much money. Canon has several kinds
with different options and they are not too expensive. - answered by trucker girl
Answer #4 i agree that hp is where it is at. i use the color laserjet 4650dtn, the
cartridges are almost $200. each, but when you figure that you get almost 7000
pages per, (based on useage) it is still cheaper than most inkjets. do the
math.i use it for everything - from e-mails to flyers full color or just b/w.
totally love the hp!oh, and it has a great duplexer, just don't use it for heavy
paper. it will get stuck. - answered by continentalprintingsupplies
Answer #5 For the most part you aren't going to get a laser printer capable of doing
photo's on a budget. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. The standard
resolution on a ink jet photo printer is 4800 dpi x 1200 dpi. A high resolution
laser jet is 1200 dpi x 1200 dpi, that is also a printer that will no doubt be
priced above $1000. Laser printers do not mix colours like ink jets do, they
place dots next to each other in order to trick the eye into seeing a colors s
opposed to mixing colour to create it.The entry level laser printers give only a
600dpi x 600 dpi, It will be a very grainy print. Entry level is where you
are going to find the most cartridge economy at under $100/cartridge. The
Hewlett Packard Colour Laser Jet 2600n Printer fits that description. It takes
series Q6000 cartridges which are the only colour toners I have seen in that
price range. The resolution is low so you will want the sales person to print
you off a couple copies of high quality graphics to make sure your needs will be
met by such a printer.Outside of having lacking photo quality there are often
limited mediums that a laser printer can print on. You will want to ensure that
your printer is compatible with papers with a variety of finishes. If you are not
pleased with what is available in laser printers you may want to look into a
modified ink jet printer. For some canon and epson printers you can purchase
what is called a continuous ink system. This a basically a bulk ink system that
allows you to "refill" high volumes of ink through a specialized cartridge. You
will want to take extra care to maintain an monitor your printer while using
one, also do a lot of research into whether or not it will be worthwhile.
Continuous ink systems will always void your manufacturer's warranty but to
offer some economy in printing.THere is one available for your current printer
as well
