Question : Customizing inkjet cartridges...?
Is there anyway to customize inkjet cartridges to print different types of solutions? For example, I'm doing a science project where I need to print an even layer of platinum solution onto paper. Is this even feasible?The TLC Plate Streaker sounds like it could do the job. The thing I like about the inkjet idea (even though I'm not sure as to its feasibility) is that I can print over the same area over and over again to achieve a desired thickness (controlling the thickness is basically what my experiment is centered on). I would then take the printed paper and sinter it onto my substrate. Can anyone possibly point me to any documented sources of someone doing this type of this?

Answer #1 I don't see why you could not open and clean a cartridge. It would take some
work to get a system that would work. Somewhere someone is manufacturing these
products. If you could find some empty ones it would be easier. The use of a
micropipette or TLC applicator device would work better.

Answer #3 Be careful, you can mess up the nozzle sprayers. If the material hardens inside

Answer #4 of course I have done it myself...well not on a project, but out of
inventability, mixed different solutions that are supposed to make up the inkthe
result was, a big mess, but I realised it is feasible- u just have to get the
density right, first analyse the ink that is in there, to get the density
correctly, try to add a noncohesive material, that would prevent it from
sticking up on the walls of the cartridge and the dispenser.thats about all,
then by trial and error u shall get the density- as I didand thereplace the
cartridge, as this one will be wasted:)
