Question : Can I purchase compatible inkjet cartridges for the Epson Stylus CX 5400 or do they have to be the genuine?
I purchased what they said was compatible to the Epson Stylus CX5400 on the internet. When I got them, I put them in and a message read on printer screen that these were not the genuine epson stylus cx5400 inkjets. So, I tried to make a copy of something(its an copier, printer and scanner) and there was nothing on the page. Help?

Answer #1 If I was you, I would get my old cartridge and keep it. Then go to the store
and get a cartridge refill kit. I use it all the time and it really works.
Just inject the new ink into the old cartridge and BAM!! you can now use it
again and again. You would save a lot of $$$$ too. But some people are lazy
when it comes to refills. Either way, you should be able to use compatible
ink-jet cartridges and most printers list the ones that are.... - answered by Kleersteel
Answer #2 I had the CX5400 and it worked great. The bad thing about Epson printers is
that it ONLY works with their ink. Something about their darn ink cartridges
(dura-ink) that it's hard others to duplicate. I've tried the cheap brands
(from inkjets.com) and the quality was bad. The ink would run off and it would
not installed correctly to the nozzles. Go to Costco if you're a member and buy
the whole Epson combo pack, instead of single packs. It's a lot cheaper, about
$30 bucks less (IT'S NO JOKE). - answered by trengenX
