Answer #2
Canon may have been first with the invention, but it was Hewlett-Packard that popularized the inkjet printing system. First conceived by Hewlett-Packard in 1979 as part of its thermal inkjet-printing concept, the inkjet cartridge was introduced in 1984 in HP's ThinkJet printer. The inkjet cartridge contained a rubber bladder for storing the dye-based ink and a glass substrate with nickel orifices for delivering the ink to the paper.
