I was told that the quality is supposed to be good. But a year or two ago I tried two different brands and could never actually get the ink into the cartridge. I thought it was a waste of money and pretty messy.

I used a kit for Canon and HP cartridges with success. The quality was good for most printing, but they didn't have the same photo quality as the originals.

the kits are mostly all generic inc and often its hard to insert into the cartridge i have used them and found that the quality is almost the same but still not the same in fact the cartridge is not 100%the same inside is a print head and the head often clogs up and can not be safely cleaned up by people so its best to buy a new cartridge i know that they cost a lot but here are some tips : staples offers 3.00 off your next cartrage when you bring in your old one it can really add up .buy in bulk offten you can buy two cardridges .you can also buy it dirt cheap on ebay . also try to print in black and white more and also try to us a pdf printer wich lets you print to a file in stead of to paper (link below )good luck :)

The ink refills needed, and the method to refill, and theresults change for each printer - to answer the question,WE need to know what the Printer name is, and what theprinter print head is ( sometimes, as in HP or LEXMARK, theprinter head is a gold foil ON THE REFILL, somtimes, it isa computer chip on the printhead carriage, ie CANON, sometimes theprinthead is on the carriage, and the refills are justplastic ink cases, such as EPSON ). No one can answer thisquestion unless you provide more details. Even the brand of refill ink makes a difference.... NEED MORE INPUT
