Question : My Epson Inkjet Printer doesn't print out black ink even after a new ink cartridge is installed!?
I have Epson CX5400 Inkjet printer. I purchased a staple's black ink useable for my printer but it didn't work. and i think it messed my printer up because even after we bought the Epson Ink cartridge, it still doesn't print out black ink. It says it's full, and it is correctly connected to the computer, and it shows no error messages, but it ONLY doesnt print out black ink. color seems to work fine. We tried head cleaning, reinstalling the cartridge, nozzle checks, and everything tons of times. PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Answer #1 Try using Rubbing Alchoal when you clean, it really gets that nitty gritty stuff
out, it's possible it just gunked up in there somewhere. Make sure the
cartridge is fully inserted and locked into place. There is another possibilty to
that the cartridge is either messed up and not getting a signal or the ink is
dried up, either way try to take it back to staples and see if you can get a
replacment. - answered by CopenJackenHagen
Answer #2 there is a pin where you put in the cartridge.put some serviets under the
printing head(found under the cariage) and insert in the pin 10 ml of hot
water.also you should check if you have anything put on the top of the pin.don't
press on the pin too hard.this unclogs the print head(i modifyed the message
because i saw what the other guys said an most of it is not true)believe me i
modify those printers i know.try it.never failed me before regards THE helper - answered by cc
Answer #3 these are nasty old problems - yuk. i do know one major problems with epson
printers. you CANNOT uninstall and reinstall the ink carts. once you pierce
the hole in the bottom of the cart, when u reinstall, it thinks you've
reinstalled an empty or used cartridge. so once you install it, if it doesn't
work you USUALLY can't take it out and reuse it.Check with EPSON and see what
they say. they cannot void your warranty for using non-epson inks UNLESS they
supply you with the inks.good luck - hope this helps. - answered by keanweaner

it will be print head problem. - answered by mmir_tech
Answer #5 Maybe one of the important printing component(s) is or are not working well like
the printer head must have block the new ink from coming out and the clogging
must have been very bad due to the old ink usage. Perhaps you should try sending
it to a computer shop or somebody to repair the printer or get a new printer
head. I own an epson printer once by it spoiled and couldn't be repaired so got
to get a new printer. If worst come to worst, you may have to buy a printer but
this time try buying HP printer instead. - answered by crimson_cross_7
